I am honored to be nominated as president-elect of TYLA. It is my goal to continue TYLA’s tradition of doing great things for both the young lawyers of Texas, as well as the public at large. If you have some ideas on how TYLA can better serve you, please let me know.

Alex has served on the Texas Young Lawyers Association Board of Directors since 2013, serving most recently as Treasurer of the Association. In 2012, Alex graduated from LeadershipSBOT.

LeadershipSBOT, a joint program of the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Young Lawyers Association, is designed to prepare Texas attorneys, who have already shown a dedication to improving their practice and their community, to become successful state and local leaders.

My Goals

Alex believes strongly in the mission of TYLA: service to its members, development of leadership, respect for the law, and service to the public. Alex will:

  • Develop programs to serve the young lawyers of Texas
  • Support community involvement and volunteerism through unique programming
  • Create opportunities to promote and enrich the education and mentorship of our community and future colleagues

About Me

Alex Yarbrough is an associate at Sprouse Shrader Smith PLLC where he practices civil litigation. He devotes a significant portion of his practice to representing cities, counties, law enforcement, and the railroad industry.

Alex received his bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University in 2007 and earned his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2011. Alex and his wife, Kelsey, are the proud parents of three-year-old Payton and eight- month-old Zane.
